The Otherworldly Montegrappa Surrealista Pen
If you’d like your desk-side accessories to make a bigger statement, we’re pretty sure that Montegrappa’s Salvador Dali-inspired pen is the most cultured, elegant, artistic writing utensil mankind has ever seen. The inspiration behind the pen, appropriately dubbed “The Surrealista,” was inspired by the artist’s 1944 painting “Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening.” If you’re not familiar with it, it was the first of Dali’s revolutionary artworks to feature the recurring “Space Elephant” character. We’re not sure how the pen’s face-resembling details tie in with this particular painting, but we know these features are crafted in solid 18-carat gold. And we know that they’re beautiful. And we think it must have some kind of penmanship-improving powers, too.
