1. Debris from missing EgyptAir flight found at sea

“Egyptian naval crews scouring the Mediterranean Sea on Friday discovered human remains, debris and some of the personal belongings of the 66 passengers aboard an EgyptAir plane that went down the day before, Greek and Egyptian officials said.”

2. 80% of world’s megacities now are in Asia, Africa or Latin America

“Among the world’s megacities, two are in sub-Saharan Africa: Lagos in Nigeria and Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo are on the list. Johannesburg, South Africa, with a population that’s expected to reach 11 million by 2025, is soon to join.”

3. Chinese government faked almost a half billion social media posts last year

“The Chinese government is fabricating almost 490m social media posts a year in order to distract the public from criticising or questioning its rule, according to a study.

“China’s ‘Fifty Cent Party’ – a legion of freelance online trolls so-named because they are believed to be paid 50 cents a post – has long been blamed for flooding the Chinese internet with pro-regime messages designed to defend and promote the ruling Communist party.”

“To escape Facebook’s crackdown and connect with white-power groups worldwide, U.S.-based extremists are joining VK.”

5. When did we become obsessed with the idea of the Alpha Male?

“Young men desperately need to know whether they are alpha and, if not, what they can do to avert the slow-motion catastrophe of perpetual betadom. That’s why large segments of the internet have turned into a thick sludge of alpha-male content.”
