Let This TIFF Chatbot Decide Which Movies You Should See This Year

So, here’s the thing about TIFF: On first blush, this year’s lineup looks like it’s bigger than the entire Canadian Netflix library. And, as if you need to me remind you of this, it’s all going to be pretty good, right?

The problem then, is breaking through this mass of art and cinema, and the subsequent indecipherable Wikipedia list, to see the movies that you’re actually going to enjoy. (Hint: you can probably sleep on Nick Cannon’s latest, King of the Dancehall).

Because it’s 2016, and it seems like that one lucky millennial on staff at TIFF finally has some clout there, the answer can be found on social media, or specifically in the festival’s new Facebook chatbot, Tiffbot.

From MobileSyrup: Tiffbot “searches through movies playing at TIFF and curates a list of top films across various genres, taking awards nomination buzz and big-name stars into account when arriving at its suggestions.”

To start chatting up this movie-loving artificial intelligence, head over to TIFF’s landing page and just hit that big red button. The magic of technology I don’t quite understand will take it from there.
