Written and directed by Rian Johnson, The Last Jedi, is said to take place directly after The Force Awakens. Its title would suggest the film will focus mostly on Luke Skywalker, who was largely left out of episode VII. But before you read too much into the fate of Luke or Rey, keep in mind that Jedi can be both singular and plural.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be in theatres December 15, 2017.
