Porsche Design’s New Condo Tower Has a Special Elevator for Your 911

You know what the very worst part is about living in a condo? Two words for you: Underground. Parking. It is a living nightmare, an exercise in staying calm while your brain swears incessantly and you narrowly avoid scraping the side of your car against any and all manner of walls, cars and pedestrians. And even once you’ve parked your ride perfectly, you’re then forced to spend the rest of the day hoping no one else is stupid enough to hit it.

The architects behind the newly constructed Porsche Design Tower in Miami have heard your cries of agony, fellow condo dwellers. And they’ve devised a pretty spectacular solution.

The crown jewel of the 60-story residential tower is a one-of-a-kind patented lift system that transports residents and their cars directly into their unit. Every floor of the building houses its own private garage.

The lift comprises three car elevators encased in glass that run through the entire building. Residents and guests are then treated to the sight of amazing cars swooping up through the lobby.

The rest of the building’s features are equally impressive — and yes, we realize we just told you this place has floating Porsches. For instance, residents who’d prefer not to mess up their immaculate kitchens have access to a top-notch restaurant located directly in the tower.

Standard units start with a price tag of $6.3 million, but for buyers who want something a little more grand — trust us, they’re out there — four-storey penthouses (with enough parking space for 11 cars) are available for $32.5 million.

Located directly next to Sunny Isles Beach, the tower also includes a state-of-the-art spa with a steam room, sauna, fitness centre, yoga room and salon. Rough life.
