Breitling’s Latest Is a Bentley for When You’re Not Driving

A Bentley is more than just a status symbol — it’s a lifestyle. It’s a pledge of allegiance, a commitment to living by the philosophy of the automaker’s inimitable design and heritage. So what does a Bentley driver do in those sad on-foot, in-office, at-home moments, when they are without car?

Wear a Bentley on your wrist! Duh.

The new Breitling for Bentley GT Dark Sapphire Edition is a dusky, ultra-light, limited edition sport chronograph, made to celebrate the unveiling of the Continental GT at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. It pays tribute to the Grand Tourer with a lithe, ultra-durable case made of Breitlight — a new material that mirrors that innovative materials inside the GT. According to the watchmaker, the material has “resistance to scratching, traction and corrosion, along with non-magnetic, thermal stability and non-allergenic properties.”

Of course, to warrant that crepuscular name, the watch boasts a subtle black, streaked effect with a stately blue shimmer that echoes the Dark Sapphire from Bentley’s colour palette. Its unique watch dial features a spectacular diamond shape mirroring the ‘diamond in diamond’ pattern that can be found in the leather of the new Continental GT.

Underneath the polymer case lies Breitling’s COSC-certified B06 chronograph movement. It was developed in the Swiss brand’s Chronométrie workshops and can be distinguished by its unique 30-second chronograph system, which twas patented in 1926 – a year before the first famous Bentley Boy win at Le Mans!

No pricing information on this timepiece yet, but if you want one you’d best get Breitling on the horn now – they’re only making 500 of them.
