Citizen’s Updated Promaster Dive Watch Is a Beautiful Beast of the Deep

The Promaster collection, originally introduced by Citizen in 1989, was upgraded in 2017. The Eco-Drive Professional Diver is especially appealing to undersea explorers and more casual sports watch fans alike because it’s made of premium parts: there’s an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and the case and bezel are titanium, with scratch-resistant carbon coating for extra toughness.

Inside, it has all the goodies a deep-sea diver needs: easy-to-read, heavily lumed hands and markers, a helium-release valve, a power reserve indicator, a one-way rotating elapsed-time bezel with lock, a wetsuit strap extender, a screw-back case and screw-down crown, and it’s water resistant up to 1,000 metres.

Inside it’s just as practical. Using Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology, the Promaster Eco-Drive Professional Diver 1000m is powered by light and never needs a battery, which means you won’t end up compromising the seal of your watch by opening the case back.
