The hard answer? With discipline, coffee, and melatonin pills. The better answer, however, is a pair of goofy orange glasses. Hear us out: Toronto startup Somnitude has made a pair of glasses that filter out 99 per cent of blue light, which, as we’ve already learned, impacts your body’s internal clock. Wear the glasses a few hours before you need to sleep, and they’ll help you adjust to any sleep schedule.
It may sound hokey, but it works: Team Canada’s freestyle ski team used Somnitude to adjust to the PyeongChang Olympics’ 12-hour time difference, and they sure as heck owned the podium when they got there.
