Inside the First Ever New York Men’s Fashion Week
This week marked the first ever New York Fashion Week: Men’s. It’s been a much anticipated event amongst designers, buyers and media in North America, including the style team at Sharp.
Sportswear was predominant on lot of the runway and presentations (similar to what we saw in London, Paris and Milan) with designers like Public School, Calvin Klein, Ovadia & Sons and Rag & Bone confidently throwing to the activewear trend. The fit was relaxed, but not sloppy thanks to the use of materials that still held shape, for an overall urban-utilitarian look.
Deconstructed tailoring showed again at Perry Ellis, Todd Snyder and Michael Kors, but with less of the sporstwear inspiration, while other brands like Orley harnessed some of the 70s muted colours and knits.
Sharp’s Fashion Coordinator was on scene, spotting trends and snapping photos. Here are the highlights:
