Sharp Cocktail Hour: Mixing the Perfect Old Fashioned with Proximo Spirits

Proximo Spirts & Sharp

In late June, fifty Sharp VIP readers gathered online for a virtual tasting experience of not one spirit, but two: Bushmills 10 Year Old whiskey and Maestro Dobel Diamante tequila. Both were delivered to attendee’s doorsteps as part of a custom Sharp Elite tasting kit that also included all the ingredients needed to whip up a mean Old Fashioned.

The event was hosted by Sharp creative and editorial director Michael LaFave, while Bushmills Irish Whiskey brand ambassador Jared Boller guided guests through a tasting of the distiller’s 10 Year Old Single Malt, and shared plenty of expert advice on mixing whiskey-based cocktails along the way. Next, Maestro Dobel ambassador James Bailey dove into all things tequila. Not only did he discuss details like how different types of agave impact a tequila’s flavour, he also took centre stage to lead Sharp VIPs through making their own tequila-based Old Fashioned.
