Venezuela in 24 hours

Aida Yespica, Model

If we were in Venezuela for 24 hours, what would you recommend?

The beaches are beautiful and the capital, Caracas, has so many places to see and things to do. You can also visit the city of Mérida where you can get a lot of sightseeing done. When you go there, be sure to try everything: arepa, criollo, etc.

Colombia Must Sees

Angie Cepeda, Actress

What are some places in Colombia that one absolutely must visit?

Cartagena for sure. Rosario Island which is amazing. There is another beautiful town in the interior of Colombia called Villa de Leyva which is all white sand and is so beautiful and quiet. La Guajira too, it’s like a peninsula and they have the most amazing beaches there. It’s really great because while there are tourists, there are no hotels which is nice. You just go there and it’s very rustic, you can sleep in hammocks. It’s a shame that people only want to talk about the delinquency in my country and it’s really unfair because it’s nothing compared to all the amazing things that we have and that people don’t even know about. That’s why I always talk about it because people think Colombia and Argentina, they think cocaine but that’s all of Latin America. In general, Latin America is very colourful and they’re trying to be better and stronger. People think that if you go to these countries people are going to kidnap you, but it’s not true, it doesn’t work like that! Nothing bad ever happened to me, I’ve never had a bad experience.

Attraction

Arden Cho, Actress

I like a guy who is down to earth and has a big heart and is kind and funny and laughs a lot. I actually don’t really like dating people in the business because I don’t want to take that home, you know? I want something separate from that. I think what’s most important to me is somebody with a big, genuine heart who is just a bright person, nice to be around and then someone who is willing to take the time to actually get to know me, aside from the stuff that’s on the internet. (laughs)

Building Your Brand

Arianny Celeste, Model & Host

You really have to put yourself out there and be on top of your game every day, not just on-site days. I practically live in a bikini. If I get called tomorrow into a photoshoot, I need to be in tip-top shape. It’s really just putting yourself 100% out there in social media, in talking to people that are successful in business and getting ideas from them. Just thinking outside the box and not staying content. You have to jump into other things as well. In five years I definitely hope to be still doing television hosting, maybe even managing a couple of girls who are in the UFC. No matter what, I want to be in the entertainment business. It’s what makes me happy.

What to Wear

Brittany Mason, Model

I love really good, fitted shirts. For men, it’s all about the way things fit. It really is. I don’t like baggy clothes. I love good jackets, really nice tailored jackets. Tighter jeans, not too tight, but, you know, tighter, thinner jeans. For guys, because the style is so simple, you don’t have as many options as us women – it’s more about adding the little things. The little things make the outfit. You know, like a nice watch. Accessorize! Even a scarf, I think it’s all about adding the little things that makes a difference.

Skydiving 101

Cassandra Scerbo, Actress

Honestly, there are no tips. Take a deep breath and don’t think back on it. Also, you can’t Google, don’t Google any people that have died from sky diving, because then you’re going to chicken out. You just have to get on the plane, cross your fingers and enjoy it.

Assert Your Personality

Famke Janssen, Actress

How important do you think wardrobe is to a person when they’re trying to assert who they are?

Very. I mean, to think about yourself when you wake up in the morning and the way you dress is how people perceive you and how you feel about yourself and all of that. I get very much involved with costume designers in wardrobe.

Your Sexiest Quality

Inbar Lavi, Actress

Talent baby, talent. I don’t care who or what you are, but if you’re AMAZING good at something, I am putty in your hands.

As for what makes her feel the most confident, it’s all about “a sexy black dress. Works every time.”

Introduce Something New

Jackie Redmond, Sportscaster

With you working in sports, are guys who play sports or know their stats a turn on or a turn off?

I definitely get along with guys who know and like sports because it’s something that we have in common and it makes it easier to get along. It’s always fun to be able to go out with someone to watch a game and both be passionate about it. But on the other hand, I’m so familiar with sports on my own that sometimes what I look for in a guy is for them to introduce me to something else. It sounds bad but I don’t know how much a guy could teach me about sports! I look for guys with different interests so I can experience something new like music or the arts…stuff that I don’t always make time for in my own life. I like it when a guy can introduce me to something different.

Why It’s Okay to Geek Out

Janina Gavankar, Actress

Whenever I read something about you, your ‘geekdom’ is always mentioned. What does being a geek really mean to you?

Let’s define geek: to geek is to love. When you’re a geek about something it means you have an overwhelming love and obsession for some things. So to geek is to love. The things that I’ve always been interested in are more on the ‘nerdy’ side. Especially the way that I interact with them which is 110 per cent, fangirl vibrations at all times. Growing up I was a band geek, swing choir geek, theatre geek, drum corp. geek, all of that. Now, I’m a gamer, a tech geek and an involuntary early-adapter. I’m so enthralled by tech that I might have ended up in it if I wasn’t such a weirdo artist….There’s something about geek culture that is very pro-smart, strong women. This community that is perceived to be nerdy boys is not just nerdy boys first of all. And nerdy boys need smart women to contend with and they’re everywhere.

Travel Together

Meghan Heffern, Actress

What do you think of [traveling the world apart]? Is that something that you would suggest in a relationship?

I can understand the reasoning if you’ve only had one experience your whole life, I can understand wanting to see if there’s something more. But I’m not sure it would work in real life and I’m not sure if it’s going to work out on the show either. People will just have to watch and find out.

Music to Seduce To

Mia Martina, Singer

Do you have any advice on what kind of music to play if a man wants to seduce a woman?

Well, definitely not a hard rap song. Any Bruno Mars song, really. That’s what I would do if I were a man…

Zombie Apocalypse

Mikaela Hoover, Actress

For myself, if there was a zombie apocalypse I would just join them. I’m not going to fight it. It’s too stressful to fight. I’d join, no question. I tell all my friends ‘if there’s a zombie apocalypse, don’t open your door for me because I’m one of them.’ Living as a survivor would suck. In all the zombie movies you see the survivors and their living conditions, I’d be like ‘fuck that’ just join! Who knows, maybe the zombies are living it up!

Trinidadian Food in Toronto

Mishael Morgan, Actress

You were born in Trinidad and are a self-professed foodie, so can you tell us about any favourite spots in Toronto that you can recommend for some Trinidadian good eats?

Drupati’s for sure! And Vena’s! Those are my two favourite Trinidadian restaurants here in Toronto. I find them to be the most authentic. When my cousins were visiting from Trinidad I took them to Drupati’s and they said it was just like eating a double in Trinidad.

How To Impress

Natalie Loren, Actress

What do men have to do to impress you?

The best thing a man can do is to just say what he’s going to do and mean it. If he says he’s going to do something, he has to make it happen. I love a man who has a great mind and is creative.

A Woman You Should Meet in 2015

Eden Grinshpan, Chef & Host

Stay tuned next year for new A Woman You Should Meet Q&As. Here’s a sneak peek of our interview with Eden Grinshpan, chef and host of Eden Eats and Log On & Eat With Eden Grinshpan. She’ll be our first woman you should meet of 2015.

Aa a chef yourself, are you at all impressed by men who cook?

Absolutely. I think that there is nothing sexier than a man that can cook. And any female will agree with me. I think w woman would prefer to be cooked for than taken out. Yes, getting taken out is exciting and romantic but the thought process that goes into making a meal is time consuming and all about the details. It’s nice to see that vulnerable side of men. And they need to work for their woman, you know?
