Here’s what we’re reading today.

1. What would happen if we just gave people money?

“Basic income challenges our notions of the social safety net, the relationship between work and income, and how to adapt to technological change. That makes it one of the most audacious social policy experiments in modern history. It could fail disastrously, or it could change everything for the better.”

+1: From March, here’s a look at the Ontario Liberals tentative plans to test a basic income in a yet-to-be-named community later next year.

2. Inside one of Apple’s most secretive factories

“A few minutes past 9 a.m. at Pegatron Corp.’s vast factory on Shanghai’s outskirts, thousands of workers dressed in pink jackets are getting ready to make iPhones. The men and women stare into face scanners and swipe badges at security turnstiles to clock in. The strict ID checks are there to make sure they don’t work excessive overtime. The process takes less than two seconds.”

Bloomberg takes an exclusive look at the complex.

3. Grow ops found on crime scene of Ohio executions

The slayings were part of a “sophisticated operation” that Ohio authorities described today as a “pre-planned execution.” Police also revealed that they found three grow ops on the scene of the crime, though it’s unclear if they’re related to the killings. Charles Reader, Pike Country Sheriff, told residents he didn’t believe safety was an issue for others, but “If you are fearful, arm yourself.”

Last week, seven adults and one teenagers were found shot in the head. Three children, including a four-day-old infant found in its mother’s arms, were left alive.

4. The GOP dream team

Ted Cruz and John Kasich are teaming up. The pair of Republican candidates are co-ordinating their campaign efforts to focus on primaries where each has a better chance of denying Donald Trump delegates at this June’s convention. Cruz will pivot to Indiana, while Kasich will get New Mexico and Oregon. After sweeping New York state last week, Trump now has 853 delegates, with another 733 needed to secure the nomination.

+1: This is what America has come to: Charles Koch thinks Hilary Clinton might be a better President than any of the GOP candidates.

5. Why are so many celebrities dying this year?

Turns out there’s just more celebrities who are old AF, the BBC explains.
