Somehow, Getting Rejected by Rihanna Wasn’t Drake’s Biggest L of the Weekend

You may have heard that our old pal Drake had a rough go of it on Sunday evening. It began with the Artist Formerly Known As Wheelchair Jimmy declaring his love for Rihanna onstage at the VMAs, before a live television audience of millions. That was followed by a fumbled kiss and whispered phrase that were analyzed more closely than the Zapruder film, and which, in turn, led to all of Twitter roasting the living hell out of Toronto’s favourite son.

And yet, somehow, some way, none of that even ranked as Drake’s most embarrassing moment of the weekend. Instead, that honour goes to this video he filmed backstage during a recent stop of his Summer Sixteen tour, wishing the Maine-Endwell Little League team luck in their upcoming championship game.

Oof. Aubrey, my dude, it isn’t even the “ends well” pun that makes me cringe — I’ve heard far worse attempts at “wordplay” from you over the years, after all — it’s what follows it. That “ha-HA” with the point-and-clap? That was the corniest, dad-iest thing I have ever seen in my life. And I’ve seen Big Fish. You look like Kevin Hart doing his imitation of a white guy telling a joke. No wonder RiRi gave you the cheek.
