Unfunny TV Show Wants to Remind You It’s Still On-Air by Spoofing Actual Funny Cartoon
The Simpsons – the show which has officially been bad for longer than it was good – is returning for its 28th season this Sunday. To help remind us of that, Fox has released a sneak peak of the premier’s opening couch gag, a fine and fun homage to Adventure Time.
In and of itself, this whole thing is pretty innocuous. Adventure Time is great. And obviously The Simpsons crew are fans. The opening, though, really says a lot about the state of The Simpsons today. You know, how it’s not funny and no one really cares that it’s still on, but it, like, totally was good and so that’s fine. It’s fine.
