1. Fjällräven has come to Toronto, have fun telling your friends
“The hard-to-pronounce Swedish brand (it’s like “fyahl-rah-ven”) known for its colourful boxy backpacks now has a standalone flagship store on Queen West, just east of Spadina. It’s as outdoorsy as you’d expect from a company that named itself after an Arctic fox, and whose first product in 1960 was an external frame rucksack made from tent material.”
2. Google introduces a new phone feature
“Google could soon have a feature that lets your phone impersonate people—because consumer-facing artificial intelligence isn’t terrifying enough. Called Duplex, it’s intended to make people’s lives easier by handling standard phone calls that are necessary, but not especially personal.”

3. Deadpool fans are not messing around
“Almost everyone involved in the film has given Maximum Effort the past two years, maintaining the highest level of super secrets, like how David Blaine catches bullets in his mouth. And the secret blend of 11 herbs and spices in Colonel Sanders’ delicious moustache,” Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool wrote on Twitter. “Only a handful of people know the film’s true plot. One of them is not Ryan Reynolds.”

4. Who doesn’t love a good bomber jacket?
“A ‘bomber’ has become an umbrella term for a jacket practically every man has in his wardrobe these days: short, zip or button-up, cropped hems, knitted cuffs, a little attitude and a lot of versatility. However, there are many variations of the bomber jacket and this broad, undefined brushstroke it’s been painted with belies its original functionality and purpose; which was to serve pilots in the military.”
5. Black truffle mustard? I’ll take 10
“Made using mustard seeds that are cut instead of crushed for a finer texture and filled by hand directly from the pump, Maille’s mustards are among the best in the world. This particular version is infused with black truffles and Chablis white wine from Burgundy, giving it a rich, earthy flavor that pairs well with a variety of foods including chicken, salmon, and risotto. It arrives in a Burgundy-made stoneware jar with cork lid.”
