1. Volvo opens its doors to first U.S. factory

“After breaking ground in September 2015, Volvo is ready to show the world its new factory outside of Charleston, South Carolina. The 2.3-million-square-foot factory on 1,600 acres — apparently known as “Project Thor” inside the company — will be the sole global producer of the new S60 sedan, expected to take over from the Chinese facility that currently builds it. Roughly half of the planned 60,000-unit S60 production, slated to start “late this year,” will be exported.”

“The Walt Disney Company has boosted its bid to acquire the bulk of 21st Century Fox, raising its offer to $71.3 billion in cash and stock. In a statement, Fox said Wednesday that the new deal is significantly better than Disney’s earlier offer and “is superior to the proposal made by the Comcast Corporation.”’

“Fans of XXXTentacion gathered for a impromptu memorial service last night (June 19), following the rapper’s death. The 20-year-old was killed on Monday (June 18) after being shot while shopping for motorcycles. They left the scene in a dark-coloured SUV after allegedly taking a Louis Vuitton bag.”
