Inside the Kimpton Saint George

The Kimpton Saint George is Toronto’s newest boutique hotel — and the site of the dashing spring suiting photo shoot in Sharp’s May issue. While we were able to capture some of our favourite corners of the recently opened property, we barely scratched the surface.

For the brand’s first Toronto location, there is an emphasis on local design and character. Led by Toronto interior-design firm Mason Studio, the 14-storey hotel breathes fresh life into the city’s hotel scene. Each of the 188 rooms features art by local artists, curated by the Toronto group Arts and Objects — including a landscape mural by Tisha Myles in the cozy lobby, and custom-painted totems in the reception area by Dijuna Day. And of course, there’s the unmissable west exterior wall of the building, which sports a specially commissioned mural by the street artist BirdO.

The hotel lobby also features a living room area complete with fireplace for those long Canadian winters. And there are a wide variety of other public spaces for any need: a fitness centre, 1,500 square feet of meeting space, as well as 20 suites and a stunning Presidential Suite that’s perfect for hosting intimate events.

So after you’ve surfed through our photo shoot, check out the slideshow below for an in-depth tour of the hotel.
