In 1960, Bulova produced the epoch-making watch “Accutron”, the world’s first tuning fork electronic watch. In 2020, 60 years after that, Accutron was relaunched as its own standalone brand, with its first Accutron Space View 2020 and Accutron DNA watches equipped with a new movement innovation called electrostatic induction. These new movements are powered by the accumulated electrostatic energy generated by two spinning turbines, visible on the dial side of the watch. Much in the same way its old tuning fork movements were revolutionary in their own right, these new calibers are fantastic little marvels of engineering, and such a departure from where the rest of the industry is focused when it comes to movement development.
