Effortless by Design
Range Rover & SHARP
Take a walk around the 2025 Range Rover Velar and you soon get the sense that everything is very… intentional. Like everything has its place for a reason.
The design is dramatic and clean, with a reductive approach that’s enhanced by precise exterior detailing and curated interior features. It’s a pure expression of modern Range Rover DNA.
“The new Range Rover Velar is a flawless example of our modernist design philosophy,” explains Gerry McGovern, Chief Creative Officer at Jaguar Land Rover. “It’s clean, reductive and defined by perfectly-optimised proportions — it embodies effortless sophistication with a bold elegance and dramatic presence that is truly unique.”
The Range Rover Velar was the model that pioneered the brand’s design philosophy, and its new grille — alongside the new LED Headlights with jewel-like effect Signature Daytime Running Lights — ensure a unified look across the entire family.
At the rear, the overhang provides balance and highlights the model’s length. Its pronounced kick adds to its stance while the new lower rear bumper enhances its proportions, featuring hidden tailpipes for a cleaner appearance. New LED taillights echo the sophistication, and are complemented by a full-length high-level stop-lamp.
Inside, the elegant interior of the Range Rover Velar is even more reductive.
“Everything about it is effortless,” offers Nick Collins, Executive Director Vehicle Programmes, “and this is reflected in its luxuriously appointed interior.
“New seat designs and warm, atmospheric cabin lighting welcome the driver at the beginning of every journey, while advanced wellbeing features, including state-of-the-art air purification systems, ensure a relaxing cabin environment. Coupled with Velar’s signature intelligent driveline systems, every drive is quiet, composed and serene.”
The latest evolution of Range Rover’s signature Pivi Pro infotainment remains the centrepiece of the driver and passenger experience; ergonomically positioned higher and within easier reach in the newest Range Rover, helping to minimize distraction and reflections.
“The new Range Rover Velar debuts the next generation of our Pivi Pro infotainment,” says Director of Electrical Engineering, Alex Heslop, “with an elegant single curved glass interface and redesigned home screen that control all driving, comfort and convenience features digitally.
“[Range Rover Velar] is the pioneer of our reductive design philosophy.”
Amy Frascella, Materiality Director
“The new system is intuitive and intelligent, with digital buttons and sliders designed to work in harmony with voice AI to make it quicker and easier to use.”
That intentionality extends to the choice of materials that go into the newest Range Rover Velar. The model continues to offer a leather-free cabin option, with options that combine wool from Danish textile experts Kvadrat with Ultrafabrics polyurethane textile inserts. Inspired by bespoke tailoring, Kvadrat wool blends are 58 percent lighter than leather and offer a contemporary, more environmentally friendly, take on traditional Range Rover luxury.
“[Range Rover Velar] is the pioneer of our reductive design philosophy as well as our leader in our Materiality strategy,” explains Materiality Director, Amy Frascella.
“Integrated architecture and exquisite detailing, from the new curved glass touchscreen to new material developments and the elevation of existing collaborations — including Kvadrat wool blend textiles, Ultrafabrics, Moonlight Chrome jewellery and our Herringbone perforation detailing — all showcase our Range Rover DNA. New colourways and ambient lighting choices offer our clients a truly personalized interior space.”
It’s not easy to make the complicated look clean and refined, but the new Range Rover Velar pulls it off. It really is an exercise in thoughtful design.
