These Dudes Remade ‘Goldeneye 007’ for PC, and It Looks Straight Fire

If, in the ’90s, you were a warm-blooded male with two thumbs and a lot of a time to kill, you probably played Goldeneye 007. Like, a lot of Goldeneye 007. There was, perhaps, no finer outlet for wasting time than the N64 classic.

Today, if you find yourself in a similar situation — with plenty of time to kill — there is an overwhelming plethora of options. (Did you know they make porn in VR now?) There is, however, something to be said for the tried-and-true — which, presumably, is why these dudes decided to remake Goldeneye for the PC.

With a heavy dose of nostalgia, the free-to-download Goldeneye: Source features 25 maps, 10 different multiplayer modes, and the original 28 weapons meticulously recreated for the PC. According to the Verge, Source was made “using Valve’s Source engine, the same set of tools used to create Counter Strike and Half-Life games.” Which, uhm, maybe means something to you.

Again, this thing is free. It is also Monday afternoon, so, you know, while we don’t condone you dicking around at the office, we do entirely understand that you are an adult who can make their own decisions.
