That Time Even Jay-Z Was Blown Away by Chester Bennington’s Insane Voice

Chester Bennington, of Linkin Park, died Thursday of an apparent suicide.

No sprawling thinkpieces here. It’s too soon, too raw.

Instead, here’s a clip of the time, back in 2004, when Jay-Z got his first taste of Bennington in boss mode. It was the debut show for Linkin and Hova’s Collision Course rap-nü metal collabo. At the end of “Points of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer,” Chester belts his signature “I’M ABOUT TO…. BREAAAAAK!!!”

Jay, noticeably surprised, just looks over at him with a face that screams, “Okay… I can fucks with that.”

Classic.
