The Loose Looks at Milan Fashion Week

Over the last few seasons, we’ve noticed menswear slowly getting a looser. Not in a sloppy way mind you, but in a casual way. A looser fit allows for a kind of comfort that tailored-to-perfection suits just can’t offer. A few designers who showed at Milan Fashion Week spring/summer 2016 took that into consideration and showed a lot of looks that erred on the baggier side of things.

Giorgio Armani

First came the Dad Jeans, then the Dad Bod. Leave it to Milan to class things up with their own take on Dad Slacks you’d actually want.

Street Style

Simone Marchetti beat the pattern-obsessed designers to the punch with this colourful blazer.

Street Style

Mo Anwar encompasses the laid back vibe of the season with his comfy loose trousers and undone shirt.

Stella Jean

The models backstage at Stella Jean gave their best blue steel but are almost out-shined by the punchy prints.

Calvin Klein

While slim-fit pants are still in favour at Calvin Klein, the jackets don’t follow suit. You’re given more room to move thanks to prominent shoulders and looser sleeves.

Calvin Klein

Even the ladies are getting into the loose trend with Sia wearing an oversized Calvin Klein suit while performing at their show.

Jil Sander

Slouchy suiting no longer need be considered sloppy. Rodolfo Paglialunga found the balance by playing up certain proportions while keeping others slim at Jil Sander.

Prada

Rockets and rabbits keep things playful at Prada, while the normally extreme silhouettes were replaced with comfy sweaters and slacks.

Etro

Etro takes it easy with their patterns this time around, choosing toned down (in their world) palates and repetitive prints.
