This Wings + Horns Button-Up Will Make You Look Like ‘90s Ethan Hawke

Unpopular opinion alert: you can take your Leos, your JTTs, your Jordan Catalanos, and go home. Ethan Hawke was the undisputed king of the ’90s. Don’t even try to argue. Men lie, women lie, IMDB don’t. My mans rode into the decade riding high on that Dead Poets Society heat and immediately put up numbers: there was White Fang, which the aforementioned Mr. DiCaprio essentially remade 25 years laterBefore Sunrise, a Richard Linklater indie joint so fire it launched an ongoing, decades-long franchise; Gattaca, one of the most underappreciated sci-fi flicks ever made; and Great Expectations, which, come on, nude Gwyneth Paltrow.

And then there’s his masterpiece, Reality Bites. It’s the only movie in existence that actively makes you wish you were living in 1994, largely because of just the un-fucking-believably smooth manner in which Ethan Hawke carries himself. Observe:

I mean, right? How cool is that guy? How badly do you want to go for a beer with him and argue about the merits of Alice in Chains’ Dirt? Dude looks like he hasn’t showered in three days, but his fit is still crispy as ever. That slouchy short-sleeved button-up with only a single button actually done up? Damn. They don’t make ’em like that anymore.

Except, as it turns out, they do. West Coast menswear gods Wings + Horns have begun rolling out their latest collection for spring, and included in the first drop was this tasty morsel:

Crafted from soft, lightweight poplin in a trim, modern fit, it’s a perfectly updated, supremely wearable version of that Hawke-worn classic. Rock it with shorts or rolled-up chinos once the weather turns, and don’t forget to leave those buttons (mostly) alone. Troy Dyer would be proud.
