Weekend Wear: Here’s How to Rock The Weeknd’s Killer New H&M Collection

THIS STORY WAS SPONSORED BY H&M.

They’ve worked with everyone from David Beckham to Kenzo, but H&M’s latest collaboration might just be their coolest yet. The Swedish brand has teamed with chilled-out crooner The Weeknd to build an essential wardrobe called the “Spring Icons Selected by The Weeknd.” Our first look gave you a glimpse of the collection and The Weeknd’s inspiration, but now that the capsule has dropped, we’ve assembled our favourite pieces for a layered look that’ll have you looking just as slick as the Starboy himself.

1. Double-Breasted Coat, $80

This slouchy, double-breasted coat is a reliable and stylish outerwear choice. The oversized cut and sturdy cotton twill means it looks just as good undone as it does buttoned up and belted.

2. Imitation Suede Shirt Jacket, $35

A shirt jacket is a great layering piece while it’s still cold out, and can transition to your go-to outer layer when the weather warms up. The faux suede is lightweight and has great texture, while the simple design features details like the silver zipper and a small breast pocket.

3. Cotton Piqué T-shirt, $20

A great tee will always have a place in your wardrobe. This one is made form a cotton piqué fabric, which gives the shirt more structure and weight, and the light beige colour is a subtle alternative to white.

4. Suit Joggers, $30

Give your black denim a break and try on a tailored pair of joggers instead. The elasticized drawstring waist keeps them from feeling too formal, while the tapered shape is a more modern silhouette that reflects the current trends in menswear.

5. “Hello” Socks, $5

While these weren’t one of The Weeknd’s picks for this capsule, we’d like to think that he’d appreciate the simple design and subtle touch of fun with the embroidered “hello” on the ankle.

6. Imitation Leather Boots, $80

These combat boots are a nod to The Weeknd’s army surplus style when he first got his start, but they’ve received an urban upgrade that brings them in line with his current aesthetic. The faux leather is soft and easy to break in, while the beige feels fresh for spring.
