The Mclaren 570S: Value Added Performance

McLaren is not a marque normally associated with value.

The Formula 1 race cars that made the firm famous—and brought home 182 race victories and eight Constructors’ Championship trophies—each costs somewhere in the tens-of-millions of dollars.

The P1, McLaren’s flagship road-going car, costs upwards of $1 million.

However, with the new McLaren 570S, value appears to be its major selling point. Just take a glance at the specs. Like McLaren’s pricier models, the 570S is built around a carbon-fibre body, with a mid-mounted twin-turbo V8 putting power to the rear wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. Some 562 horsepower gets it from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. This is what you get in an “entry-level” McLaren.

The 570S is a bona fide piece of automotive exotica with the same price tag as some well-known German sports cars. Porsche, Audi: McLaren has set its sights on you.
