Seth Rogen’s ‘Sausage Party’ Is the R-Rated Pixar Spoof We’ve Been Waiting For
It’s hard to believe it took so long for this to happen. After more than two decades of warming audiences’ hearts and dominating the Oscars’ Best Animated Feature category, Pixar is finally getting the raunchy, foul-mouthed, stoner-ready spoof it’s long deserved. And, of course, Seth Rogen is the twisted mastermind delivering it to us.
Featuring an insanely stacked cast — including Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Ed Norton and Kristen Wiig among many, many others — Sausage Party follows a group of supermarket products who are horrified to discover what actually happens to them after they’re bought and brought home.
It’s such a simple conceit — a twisted, completely filthy take on the Toy Story model — but it’s one that Rogen and co. appear to have pulled off to hysterical perfection. Sausage Party hits theaters August 12th.
