You’re Not Hardcore Unless You Ride a Dior Homme Skateboard

Fashion designers have been drawing inspiration from skateboarding’s raw, unfiltered coolness for decades. The latest flowering from this cross-cultural pollination is Dior Homme’s new lineup of boards inspired by the house’s fall runway collection.

Creative director Kris Van Assche emblazoned decks with a Dior logo in bold orange (the label’s chromatic calling card this season), and the brand’s new Hardior slogan — a portmanteau of “hardcore” and Dior that epitomized the rave mood on the runway.

He also borrowed a detail from NYC-based street artist Dan Witz’s Mosh Pit series of photorealisic paintings, turning it into a graphic print that was everywhere at Dior’s fall presentation — including in a head-to-toe look rocked by guest of honour and style god A$AP Rocky.
