1. You’re going to feel like you’re stealing

“The biggest feature of the store, one of the first shops of its kind, is the fact there are no cashiers. When you arrive, you scan the Amazon Go app on your iPhone or Android phone at a turnstile to register your presence and enter the store. After that, everything you pick up is automatically tracked by the store’s cameras and charged to your Amazon account when you walk out. It all happens without you having to check in with a store employee or physically make a payment.

“Amazon Go, which, opens the door to the prospect that you may never have to wait at a cashier line again — even for those clunky self-checkout machines.”

2. Hugh Jackman’s personal trainer used to be over 300 lbs

“Since opening its Soho location two years ago, Dogpound has gained worldwide notoriety through its jacked training staff and its uber-famous clientele. Offering both personal training sessions and classes, it has become a fitness factory for New York’s glitterati.

“I had gained a few higher profile clients, and one of them was Tom Farley, who is the president of the New York Stock Exchange. He knew Hugh Jackman and his bodyguard and invited them to train with us. I put them all through the ringer.”

3. Fake UK office furniture company was actually a huge drug smuggling operation

“A drug-smuggling operation brought over £10 million worth of cocaine into the UK under the guise of a Leicester-based interior design company, a jury has heard.

“Prosecutor David Herbert alleged that the six men standing trial smuggled Class A drugs from Amsterdam to the UK inside office furniture. Leicester police seized 20 kilograms of cocaine and 289 grams of heroin in total.

“The defendants are accused of using fake kitchen-design business CJC Interiors to front the operation.”

4. How to cook your meat as close to restaurant quality as possible

“Most people completely freak out when I tell them they should let their meat come to room temperature before cooking. I have friends who practically put on hazmat suits before taking raw chicken out of the fridge.

“Taking the chill off your roasts, pork chops, and even fish fillets before cooking will produce juicier, more evenly cooked meat.”

5. The Oscars really don’t want another La La Land/Moonlight mix-up this year

“PricewaterhouseCoopers, the consulting service that handles the envelopes containing the names of the official Academy Award Winners, have implemented a new set of rules to help avoid a repeat of last year’s embarrassing Moonlight/La La Land mix-up.

“Last year’s Academy Awards were memorable not so much for the films that won, but rather for the unprecedented goof that occurred at the end of the evening.”
