This Winter Driving Experience in Northern Ontario Lets You Drift Fast Cars on Ice

A contrarian thought: instead of escaping the snow and cold this winter, why not turn into the skid — quite literally — and grab Jack Frost by the throat? You’ve got a chance to do just that next month at the “Days In Thunder” Northern Ice Driving Experience. Organized by Event Matrix, the Thunder Bay getaway gives you the chance to spend two days drifting a roster of eye-popping autos by PFAFF Motorsports (see: Porsche 911, BMW M2, Mercedes-Benz AMG C43, and more) on an ice track.

If lapping slippery terrains in a 580-horsepower supercar isn’t part of your daily life, worry not. The program comes with in-car coaching by expert instructors. (And if it is part of your daily life, then here’s a chance to take your skills to the next level. Also, we hate you, lucky bastard.) You’ll get training on accident avoidance, gaining control on minimal traction surfaces, oversteer and understeer recovery, and, duh, drifting.

Included in the package are all meals, accommodations, damage insurance, and ground transportation. Drivers will rotate through the full vehicle lineup. (And all the cars will come equipped with studded Pirelli tires, for all you safety sticklers out there.)

Spaces are limited, so book yours soon. To hell with Florida.
