Tiffany & Co. Forges Ahead With New Men’s Jewellery

Tiffany & Co. has made no secret of its plans to revamp the world of luxury, high-end jewellery for men. Last year, the jeweller introduced its first gender-neutral collection with Tiffany Lock, before appointing BTS superstar Jimin as its first men’s ambassador. Now, Tiffany is forging even stronger bonds with the male-specific jewellery sector with the launch of a new collection of silver pieces. And, like Tiffany Lock, Tiffany Forge reimagines another classic motif: the link.

Featuring bracelets, necklaces, rings, and earrings, the latest collection was created using large, jumbo-sized links, medium links, and smaller graduated links. Polished sterling silver is used for a number of the pieces, while a select few have been crafted from a blackened silver that affords the jewellery a more utilitarian air. And the use of sterling silver refers to the Tiffany legacy of standardizing the precious metal’s purity (to 925 per 1,000 parts silver) in the U.S. over a century ago.

The new collection also showcases the skills of the Maison’s renowned Rhode Island hollowware workshop, which continues to forge silver into shapes that are familiar, yet still striking. The warped, open ends of the new chains and bracelets resemble the custom crown of thorns that Tiffany made for the rapper Kendrick Lamar last year, and the open link motif offers a nod to an archival Tiffany style, which was produced from the 1880s until the mid 1970s.
