For more than a century (and counting), the Tiffany setting has maintained its icon status. When it first debuted in 1886, it changed how engagement rings were viewed — the diamond would finally be the ring’s main attraction and elevated above the setting.

With innovation at the core of Tiffany & Co.’s creative expression, the maison introduced a new feature within the Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams collection: the Titan setting.

Working in tandem with the Titan setting is a Floeting platform, a patented cut that raises the diamond above the setting without the help of prongs or bezels. “I worked directly with the creative teams at Tiffany to integrate the Floeting platform into the setting to give the illusion of that hovering effect,” says Williams.

The latest collection continues to explore and draw inspiration from Greek mythology, with the new setting showcased alongside the Titan collection’s signature spear-shaped motif. The design includes diamond pendants, earrings, and a multishank ring that highlights the effect of the Floeting platform, with two diamond bands connecting to the centre diamond with four Titan spear motifs. To ensure the diamond is secure and maintains its brilliance, artisans laser cut a micro-groove beneath the stone and additional facets to avoid the metal rim from being visible.

The introduction of the Titan setting marks another exciting chapter in Tiffany & Co.’s ever-evolving legacy of modern craftsmanship. Paired with Williams’s visionary approach, these new designs highlight that new and bold expressions of diamonds are possible.
