Scene Steeler: This Custom Chinese Motorcycle Is a Thing of Rare Beauty
Beijing’s Bandit9 is a custom workshop known for pushing the boundaries of motorcycle design into the future.
Their latest offering, however, takes cues from the past. The Ava motorcycle pays homage to the technological optimism of the Jet Age, back when a nascent airline industry was just taking off.
Channelling that era’s futurist aesthetic, the $11,000 ride boasts a handcrafted steel unibody made entirely out of polished metal. Based on the Honda Supersport, it’s powered by a 125cc engine and is decked out with dual rear shocks, a sand-cast swing arm, and a calf leather seat. Progress has never looked shinier.
