Let These Iconic Button-Down Shirts Redefine Your Spring Wardrobe

The word “icon” gets tossed around a lot in menswear. Too often, if you ask us. A truly iconic piece is something that would have looked as good on a 1950s Ivy League campus as it would in a 1970s punk bar as it would on you right at this very moment. We’re talking a proper leather motorcycle jacket, canvas hi-tops, well-cut chinos. And Ben Sherman’s button-down shirts definitely fit that bill.

This spring, the classic British outfitter is paying tribute to its own history by reissuing a series of archival shirts from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.

Dubbed “The Originals Collection,” the re-created duds feature all the details that made them beloved in the first place – from that perfect button-down collar to the old-school preppy locker loop – and come in an array of vintage patterns that’ll give your warm weather ensembles a killer pop of colour. As an added bonus, Ben Sherman went as far to present the collection in the same shirt boxes used in the clothier’s original Brighton shop way back in 1963.

Now that’s what we’d call iconic.
