This Pontiac Firebird TT Concept Will Make You Want to Raise the Dead
The firebird of Slavic folklore was a magical glowing fowl that was able to see the future. The Pontiac Firebird was an American automobile that clearly didn’t share its namesake’s prescient superpower — otherwise it would have forseen and thwarted its own demise in 2002. Still, some dream it will one day rise from the ashes.
Automotive designer Kasim Tlibekov is one such dreamer. He’s given us a glimpse into what the Firebird might look like were it reincarnated as a low-slung, drag race-ready resto-mod. The Pontiac Firebird TT concept is a rendering of the Firebird that never was — but could someday be.
It’s got a murdered out exterior, aggressive front splitter, side-view cameras (in lieu of mirrors), and an ultra-wide rear wing that would make it ideal for a Trans Am race grid. The concealed headlamps, slotted brake lights, and slotted rear window cover are vintage Firebird. For now, this is just a dream. But hey, you never know when some gutsy custom builder with a wad of cash might decide to Jean Grey this thing.
