This Is the Fragrance Counter of the Future

We all know how fragrance shopping works: you spritz a mittful of cards, forget which one was which, forget about them all together, and finally discover them shredded to bits when you’re putting the laundry in the dryer.

Fῡme Scent Lounge puts an end to all that nonsense. Set-up in Hudson’s Bay at Yorkdale Mall, the brand new, first-of-its-kind luxury concept store conceived by Coty, the fragrance powerhouse behind the likes of Gucci, Hugo Boss, Burberry, and Calvin Klein, shows us a future without waving around scent-soaked bits of paper. The standout feature are the scent inhalers, basically vials with scented beads that let you whiff what the fragrance actually smells like without having to wait for the nostril burning alcohol to simmer. Pop the vial into a slot and an RFID sensor brings up any info you’d want to know about its notes on a touch screen. Smells like science fiction, baby.
