Lee Broom’s Grandfather Clock Is Probably a Lot Nicer Than the One Your Gramps Owned

British designer Lee Broom commemorates the 10th anniversary of his studio with this handcrafted Carrara marble ticker. Dubbed “Time Machine,” the 1.7-metre-tall hexagonal showpiece is indeed a portal to the past of sorts, as Broom based its design on that of a grandfather clock that stood in the home of his (you guessed it) grandfather.

Mind you, the simplified form of this version means it’s more modern monolith than traditional timepiece. A pendulum and hands made of solid brass bring a hit of bling to the opulent sculpture. Limited to an edition of 10, it’s an investment for the ages.
