Kawhi Leonard’s Sister Just Deleted a Video Hinting He’s Leaving the Raptors

For Raptors fans, the will-he-won’t-he surrounding Kawhi Leonard’s future with the team has been a hot topic ever since he was traded to Toronto last summer. With the Raps now headed to the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors, the debate has seemingly been put on the back-burner — that is, until Leonard’s sister, Miesha Slayton, went on social media to celebrate her brother’s victory on Saturday night.

Slayton took to Instagram Live following Toronto’s advancement to the Finals, but during her celebratory video someone in the background can be heard saying, “They know darn well he ain’t gonna be there next year.”

This led to wild speculation that Leonard may be leaving Toronto at the end of the season, regardless if they win or lose the championship. Many thought the person shouting in the video — which has since been deleted — may be Leonard’s uncle and de facto business manager, Dennis Robertson. He don’t stay?!

Slayton later took down the video, reassuring fans that it was just a “Raptors hater” who she was watching the game with that made the comment. She also told a Raptors Republic reporter that her uncle wasn’t even in California at the time.

Raps fans can now hold their collective breath until their team plays the Warriors on Thursday.
