James Bond Isn’t the Only One Flexing a New Watch in ‘No Time to Die’

While you’ll now have to wait until November 2020 to see No Time to Die (even Agent 007, it turns out, is no match for coronavirus COVID-19), you can get your hands on one of the film’s most stylish props this week: the watch worn by MI6’s famed quartermaster, Q.

Thanks to a collab with Swatch, Bond’s go-to gadget supplier will be wearing a new custom-designed model, the Swatch Q, in No Time to Die. Designed by the film’s costume designer Suttirat Ann Larlarb, the watch is the perfect accompaniment to a tweed blazer, a lab coat and a room full of high-tech gadgetry. It features a cutout sun-brushed dial revealing the quartz movement inside, a subtle tartan plaid brown leather strap with red accents, a capital Q emblazoned on the dial but, sadly, no lasers, grappling hook cables or buzzsaws.

The Swatch Q is one of seven new pieces created in honour of Daniel Craig’s last hurrah as Agent 007, each one designed for the aesthetics of a classic Bond film. In true Swatch style, the watch also comes packaged in a “high-tech” cardboard box styled to look like a tiny M16 computer terminal, complete with fake fingerprint scanner. It’s a fitting tribute to the man behind the international man of mystery.
