On the occasion of its Watch Art Grand Exhibition in Milan, running until October 18, Patek Philippe has introduced seven new blockbuster limited edition watches, including perpetual calendars and minute repeaters, a new Aquanaut, and a continuation of the brand’s signature perpetual calendar/chronograph series — every piece is inscribed on the caseback with “Patek Philippe Milano 2026.”

The star of the exhibition is the Reference 5978P-010, the company’s first model of its kind to combine a manually wound chronograph with an instantaneous perpetual calendar. The 5978P-010 is a successor to a long line of Patek Philippe perpetual calendar/chronographs, starting with the famous Ref. 1518, introduced in 1941, followed by the Ref. 2499, Ref. 3970 and Ref. 5970, all of which are highly valuable today. The new movement, CH 29-535 PS QI, is housed in a 42mm Calatrava case made of platinum, and like all Patek platinum watches, the case side is set with a brilliant-cut diamond at 6 o’clock. It is a 120-piece limited edition.

The Ref. 7047G-010 is a showstopper, with a red lacquered dial etched with a carbon pattern, in a 38mm white gold case — a size that can be worn by women as well as men. It’s a limited edition of five, with a matching red alligator strap. Ref. 7147G-010 is a perpetual calendar in the Calatrava collection, with a green lacquered dial, etched with the same carbon pattern, and a matching strap, made in 100 pieces. Ref. 7007G-010 replicates the same pattern on a charcoal grey lacquer dial, with a sweep seconds hand and date.

Ref. 5167A-014 is a new interpretation of the Aquanaut, with a blue sunburst dial and a red minutes track and seconds hand. And finally, the Ref. 5531G-012 Minute Repeater World Time is part of the Rare Handcrafts collection. It features a cloisonné grand feu enamel dial depicting a view of Milan’s city centre, rendered in a palette of 16 enamel colors. The names on the city disk appear in Italian, with “Milano” highlighted in red. There are two versions of the watch, one with a daytime view of the city centre and one with a nighttime view.

The Milan event is the largest exhibition staged so far by Patek Philippe, at 2,900 square metres (about 31,000 square feet), taking place at the Palazzo delle Scintille, at the heart of the CityLife district, Milan’s business and residential quarter. It is divided into 15 themed areas, and includes Patek’s entire current collection, represented by some 500 watches, spanning every watchmaking segment from style icons to grand complications. There is also a selection of more than 90 timepieces curated from the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva. Some are from the Antique Collection (16th to early 19th century), some of the oldest watches in the world, illustrating the history of horology. The exhibition is open to the public, free of charge, until October 18.
