Inside Louis Vuitton’s First-Ever In-Store Restaurants
Louis Vuitton has more than a century of design expertise and luxury heritage. So, it only makes sense that it would bring this knowhow to the culinary world, right? Well, we have great news: Louis Vuitton has opened its first café and restaurant in its Osaka maison in Japan. After a day of browsing Virgil Abloh’s reference-heavy, cloud-printed collections, head over to Le Café V for cocktails on the terrace before dining at Sugalabo V, the open-kitchen, high-end restaurant hidden behind speakeasy doors.
The seasonal menus were dreamed up by culinary rising star Yosuke Suga, the chef behind Suga, the 47th best restaurant in the world, and ex-protege of ‘Chef of the Century’ Jöel Robuchon.
The building was designed by Jun Aoki and intended to recall billowing sails on a floating boat, and houses the café and restaurant comfortably on the fourth floor of the store. Tokujin Yoshioka, an in-house furniture designer for the brand, and the brains behind “Objets Nomades”, LV’s furniture and travel accessories collection, is the mastermind behind the whimsical, nature-inspired design.
