“Beautiful design makes a beautiful life.” A simple yet profound insight from Charles Lewis Tiffany, a visionary entrepreneur whose appreciation for beauty led him to create one of the world’s most storied luxury jewellery brands, Tiffany & Co.

As a businessman, Tiffany’s instincts and innovations allowed him to create designs that not only ensured the company’s enormous success, but also dictated the taste and directed the style of our wider culture. Some of his most famous creations include the now-famous Tiffany Setting, the inspired introduction of coloured gemstones, and most notably, the diamond engagement ring.

“[Tiffany & Co.] carries heritage and savoir-faire which are some of the things we value the most when it comes to jewellery.”

“For us, Tiffany & Co. is really the epitome of classic jewellery,” says 29-year-old digital content creator Laurence Fortin-Cóté, who recently married 34-year-old Dylan Wu. “It carries heritage and savoir-faire which are some of the things we value the most when it comes to jewellery.”

The couple describes their style as a mixture of modern and timeless, and they have found their perfect match in Tiffany, particularly the brand’s HardWear collection. Since its debut in 2017, the line of jewellery has become one of Tiffany’s signature offerings.

“The collection is edgy yet classic and has great statement and everyday pieces,” says Fortin-Cóté, also noting its incredibly versatility, which makes the collection perfect for dressing up or down. “All of the pieces are so unique, yet complement each other so well.”

Comprising necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, and even sunglasses, the HardWear Collection was inspired by the spirit, energy, and architecture of New York City. By playing with proportions, and balancing classic and modern designs, the collection is both alluring and elegant.

Across the offering, links of various sizes create a bold look that remains easy and comfortable to wear. The Graduated Link Necklace, for example, pairs just as well with a button-down shirt as it does with a formal suit and tie.

“I’m drawn to any piece in this collection with a pearl,” explains Fortin-Cóté. “I love the contrast in the natural shape and neutral colour of the pearl alongside the bold flashes of gold and silver.”

As the holiday season quickly approaches, both Fortin-Cóté and Wu believe that Tiffany jewellery is a gift that is sure to be treasured and appreciated by anyone on your list.

“Everyone needs a piece of jewellery that stands out from your day-to-day look,” says Fortin-Cóté. “Any piece from the HardWear collection is great for those who already love Tiffany and are looking for something a little bit more unique that stands out.”

And, beyond looking great, the couple explains that giving jewellery as a gift carries a particular sentimentality, one ideal for the holidays.

“Jewellery takes the meaning and significance of a specific moment in time and that feeling will last as a memory forever.”
