6 New Luxury SUVs Coming Out In 2025
We love our SUVs here in Canada, and so it should come as no surprise that there are a raft of hot new luxury SUVs coming in 2025. Car companies are responding to the demand, trying to give drivers more of what we want. According to the analysts that track these sorts of statistics, more than 60 per cent of new vehicles sold in Canada this year will be SUVs. Given all the interesting, innovative and stylish new luxury SUVs coming in 2025 — including both gas-burning and electric models — we wouldn’t be surprised if sport utilities gobble up even more market share next year. The hardest part for drivers may be in choosing just one.
2026 Genesis GV90
This as-yet unannounced ultra-luxury flagship SUV of the Genesis lineup should be spectacular, if the recent Genesis Neolun concept is any indication. (And we’re betting it is.) Rumour has it, the backwards-opening rear coach doors of the concept may even make it into production. As for the cashmere trim, wooden floors, swivelling front seats and traditional Korean “ondol” radian heating system? Well, we can only hope they make it into the production GV90 too. This was love at first sight.
2026 Range Rover Electric
Don’t mess with a good thing, just make it electric. While the all-new Range Rover Electric — the brand’s first EV — has yet to be unveiled officially, the company has given us a good look at pre-production prototypes. The vehicle you see here is out testing in the extreme heat of the sand dunes near Dubai. Range Rover’s engineers were out there recently making sure their new SUV can do everything a Range Rover should do, electric powertrain or not. The company hasn’t shared any meaningful details on price or range yet, but expect to hear lots more soon since the Range Rover Electric is slated to launch in 2025.
2025 Mercedes G 580 with EQ Technology
Don’t be fooled by this SUV’s awkward name; this is the all-electric G-Class, also known as the EQG, which Mercedes has been hyping for years now. As of early 2025, it’ll finally hit Canadian dealerships. We drove this quad-motor off-road beast recently, and we were blown away. It looks like the G Wagon we all know and love, and it’ll venture far off the beaten path just as well as its gas-burning counterpart. Not only that, but it can do cool stunts like the G-Turn and drift-on-demand with G-Steering. Glorious overkill.
2026 Audi Q5
We’ve already written about the upcoming Audi Q6 e-tron SUV, the brand’s first next-gen EV. So this time we wanted to highlight an all-new version of the fan-favourite Audi Q5 SUV. The third-generation of Audi’s beloved mid-range sport utility is slated to launch in 2025 as either a ’25 or ’26 model. The new Q5 offers a human-centred interior design, featuring a massive new Digital Stage display, as well as more extensive use of soft, luxurious materials to counterbalance all the tech. All models will feature a gas-powered combustion engine paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system to boost both efficiency and acceleration. As for the new exterior design, well, we’re loving it. We’ll reserve judgement until we drive it, but first impressions are that Audi nailed this one.
2026 BMW iX3
The first model in BMW’s next-gen Neue Klasse family is slated for 2025, and it’s a big deal. BMW is throwing everything at this. The all-electric 2026 iX3 SUV marks a new design direction for the brand, plus a radically redesigned cabin and a raft of cool new interior tech and materials. Under all that will be the sixth-generation BMW eDrive powertrain, which is said to offer up to 30 per cent more range and 30 per cent faster charging. Details are scant on how the company achieved such a leap, but they did mention new cylindrical lithium-ion battery cells and an 800-volt architecture.
2026 Cadillac Vistiq
Wow, Cadillac is going to be busy in 2025. The company just announced a refresh of its enormous Escalade SUV and confirmed the 2026 Lyric will be the first electric Caddy to wear the high-performance V-Series badge. On top of all that, there’s this, the all-new 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ, a battery-powered three-row SUV slated to join the lineup in 2025. Highlights? Too many to list here, but we’ll try: hands-free Supercruise driver assistance system, optional air suspension and rear-wheel steering, a huge 102-kilowatt-hour battery pack, dual-motors putting out 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft, and the fact that GM claims it’ll go 483 kilometres on a full charge.
