What defines the modern man? Just ask Jacob Elordi. Described as “a role that reflects a modern, instinctive masculinity and a spirit that favours individuality over convention,” CHANEL has just announced Elordi as the face of BLEU DE CHANEL.
Stylish and brooding, the campaign sizzles with the rare, electric pulse of an icon-in-the-making. As he represents the celebrated men’s cologne, Elordi joins an elite pantheon of CHANEL collaborators, including contemporaries like Timothée Chalamet and Pedro Pascal.
Noting the cologne’s “strong ties to cinema,” Elordi shared his gratitude: “The filmmakers and actors who have collaborated with the House before me are people I deeply respect and admire,” Elordi said in a statement. “Being able to become part of this story is an honour.”
The feeling is mutual. “[Elordi] perfectly embodies BLEU DE CHANEL,” gushes Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, CHANEL’s Head of Global Creative Resources, Fragrance & Beauty. He adds that Elordi captures “freedom, mystery, magnetism, and a masculinity that blends modernity with a certain classic elegance.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Saltburn star in CHANEL. Two years earlier, Elordi became Margot Robbie’s on-screen lover in See You at 5, a two-minute short directed by Luca Guadagnino for CHANEL N°5.
“I have been following Jacob Elordi’s career for several years, since Euphoria,” says du Pré de Saint Maur. When See You at 5 put the pair in touch, “it was a revelation,” he adds. Telling a charming story of missed connections, See You at 5 suggests that the road to rendezvous is just as compelling as the romance itself — clever foreshadowing, in light of February’s Wuthering Heights.

Perhaps, like See You at 5, Elordi’s new campaign will serve as a subtle indication of the star’s next move? Or maybe his resume — a rare mix of period romance, teen drama, and stylized satire — simply made him a great fit for the French fragrance.
