Casa De Los Cuatro Patios, San Miguel Chapultepec, Mexico City

Move like a king, one square at a time through this contemporary home modelled after a chess board. The classic game is reinterpreted through design in the Andres Stebelski “house of four courtyards.” Replacing alternating squares of black and white are squares of interior living spaces and outdoor courtyards filled with lush vegetation. The reflections and shadows thrown from the glass that encases the entire structure really bring the space to life. Checkmate.
