1. Killer Clowns: Inside the terrifying hoax sweeping America
“Arriving home from work one day, a mother is greeted by her son who’s been anxiously waiting to tell her about the clowns he heard whispering in the woods near their apartment complex. Initially she assumes his mind is running wild in the summer heat, until her eldest son confirms the report, saying he heard chains rattling and banging on the front door.
Unfortunately, this isn’t an installment of Are You Afraid of the Dark? but part of our new reality, as creepy clown sightings are cropping up across the country without explanation.”
2. Kids are tiny, judgmental snobs when it comes to morality
“According to a new study in the journal Psychological Science, younger children aren’t interested in your choices so much as your thought process: Kids demand moral purity, and anything less makes you just a little bit evil.
‘Our findings suggest that children may begin with the view that inner moral conflict is inherently negative,” the study authors wrote, “but, with development, come to value the exercise of willpower and self-control.’”
3. How Donald Trump set off a civil war within the right-wing media
“The conservative media has always been a playground for outsize personalities with even more outsize political ambitions.

4. In cold offices, it’s all about your feet
“Feet, it turns out, are exquisitely sensitive to temperature. When you get cold, the blood vessels in your extremities are the first to constrict, which is your body’s way of preventing more heat loss.
If building managers could heat or cool the feet alone, they could cut energy and costs. So at Berkeley, researchers are focusing on thermal comfort from the feet up.”
