This Auston Matthews Assist Might Be His Filthiest, Most Preposterous Play Yet

Fresh off scoring the Maple Leafs’ overtime winner at Sunday’s Centennial Classic and being named the NHL’s Rookie of the Month for December, it didn’t seem remotely possible for Auston Matthews to impress or surprise us any further this week. And then the kid from Arizona goes and does this:

As ridiculous as that dangle was, though, the best part of the whole damn play might actually be Leo Komarov’s celly afterwards.

The Leafs wound up coughing this one up 6-5 in OT, but if #34 keeps creating magic like that, good golly does their future ever look bright.
