The ‘Lord of the Rings’ Cast Still Hangs Out, and That Makes Us So Damn Happy

You know those old friends you’ve been meaning to catch back up with? Well, get ready to feel even more guilty for not making time to hang.

It’s hard to believe it’s been over a decade and a half since Peter Jackson’s box-office-busting, multiple-Oscar-winning Lord of the Rings trilogy first hit theatres, but last month officially marked the 15th anniversary of The Fellowship of the Ring. And Dominic Monaghan recently posted a few pictures of a mini-reunion of the former Fellowship cast getting together for a meal to celebrate. No word on whether it was second breakfast or elevenses.

At least half the gang made the trek from the Shire: there’s Elijah Wood (Frodo), Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn), Orlando Bloom (Legolas), and Billy Boyd (Pippin). No Ian McKellen though. (To be fair, Gandalf’s currently a little busy fighting a new Dark Lord.)

Still, it’s pretty cool to see these guys back together again after all this time. But, let’s be honest, it also kind of makes you feel bad for not staying in better touch with your high school crew, right?

Guess they don’t regret those tattoos just yet.
