Everything you know about the propeller plane comes from Hugo Junkers. In 1919, the German inventor put the F13 in flight and built a legend — it was the world’s first all-metal airliner, and, perhaps, the aviation world’s equivalent to the MacBook Pro. Now, heritage luggage-maker Rimowa is taking Junkers’ design into, well, the MacBook Pro era with its own F13, a mirror-image replica of Junkers’ plane, only with modernized brakes, engine mods, and a rethought tail unit. Leather helmet, goggles, and moustache wax not included.
