Shohei “Sho Time” Ohtani is making his mark as a two-way player, both pitching and hitting, for the Los Angeles Angels, and was the first-ever player with 10 pitching appearances, 20 home runs and 10 stolen bases in a single season, earning him the honour of being the 2018 American League Rookie of the Year. But of all Ohtani accomplishments professional baseball, one is history-making: He is the first player to beat Babe Ruth’s record from 1919 of pitching 15 home runs with 50 innings in a season.
