Drink Like a Mixologist: A Belvedere Cocktail Built for Summer

For this week’s edition of Drink Like a Mixologist — the first week that’s truly felt like summer — we’ve upped the refresher quotient exponentially. The “Sight for Sore Eyes” comes from the bar of Rus Yessenov, Director of Mixology at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.

His cocktail uses Belvedere Lake Bartężek, a special edition vodka that exudes herbaceous, grassy, & spicy notes. It pairs particularly well with the cucumber and dill, for a refreshing winter chill in the heat of summer.

The drink is part of Moet Hennessy’s #ComeTogether program, which launched this week in support of the hospitality industry in Canada. The Maison Hennessy is donating $50,000 to the Bartenders Benevolent Fund, which will help keep the men and women who make your drinks afloat during this time. The initiative includes Instagram Live cocktail sessions, restaurant and catering partnerships, and The Coming Together Project — a book of cocktail recipes prepared by Canada’s top 50 mixologists, and where today’s recipe can be found.
